LAUNCH OF UWOPA STRATRGIC PLAN 2022-2026

UWOPA with funding from UNWOMEN, Westminster Foundation for Democracy WFD) and National Democratic Institute (NDI) has developed her Strategic Plan 2021-2026. This Strategic Plan is an expression of the road map that Uganda women Parliamentary Association (UWOPA) has chosen, in her contribution towards enhancement of women’s rights in Uganda including; women’s participation in politics and decision making, personal safety from all forms of violence, peace and security, health, education and economic opportunities. The Strategic Plan is focusing on nine Thematic Areas these include; Women in politics and decision making, Economic empowerment for women and girls, Violence against women and girls, Quality health for women and girls, Education for women and girls, Women, Peace and Security, Women Against Corruption, Women and Climate change and Institutional strengthening, UWOPA needs to Launch the Plan so that the areas therein can be implemented

The guest of honor, H.E the vice president, Rt. Maj General Jessica Alupo who was ably represented by the Rt. Hon, Third Deputy Prime Minister Lukia Isanga Nakadama.  The Minster of Gender, Labour and Social Development Hon Betty Amongi, Minister of State for Gender and Culture Hon Mutuuzo Peace, the UN Women country Representative, representatives of the Netherlands Embassy and the Swedish Embassy and the Hon members of Parliament were also present during the Launch.
