Launch of the 16Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence against Women and Girls (GBV) by Commemorating Parliament of Uganda with orange lights was held on the 23rd of November 2022 at Members Lounge, Parliament.

On 26th November, 2024 UWOPA together with the Domestic Violence Act Coalition & members of Parliament launched the 16 Days of Activism against GBV.

Hon. Sarah Opendi Chairperson UWOPA interacting with S.3 students of Gayaza High School at Parliament and she encouraged them to focus on their studies & to join the campaign to end marriage of children in Uganda.

UWOPA members led by their Chairperson Hon. Sarah Opendi & DWR of Abim district held a dialogue meeting on GBV in Karamonja region following up the incident of Grace who was pierced with an arrow in the eye by her husband.

UWOPA members honoured their own member the late Hon. Cecilia Ogwal during plenary sitting in a special way by distributing orange scarfs to MPs in remembrance of her dedication to fight for women & their rights.

UWOPA members participating in a one day training on Gender Responsive, leadership budgeting & sharpening of pitching skills at protea Hotel.

On the 29th November, 2023 UWOPA Vice Chairperson Hon Brenda joined other partners to commemorate 16DaysofActivismAgainstGBV on women & girls by matching through Namuwongo town the Chief Guest was Hon. Hajjati Kabanda Minister for Kampala City.
