Commemoration of IWD in Tororo district led by the Chairperson

On 23rd of March 2023 the Chairperson of UWOPA Hon. Sarah Opendi together with the district and subcounty leaders held an event in Tororo District to commemorate IWD with support from UN Women. They educated women and girls on many issues more especially GBV which is a serious problem to both women and girls and this has to be addressed by both leaders at district and local council levels in order to fight and end GBV in homes, communities, schools etc.

UWOPA members led by their Chairperson Hon. Sarah Opendi & DWR of Abim district held a dialogue meeting on GBV in Karamonja region following up the incident of Grace who was pierced with an arrow in the eye by her husband.
