Commemoration of IWD in Bukwo district by UWOPA members.

On 24th of March 2023, Hon. Sarah Opendi, Hon Chemutai Everlyn and Hon. Stella Isodo together with the district and subcounty leaders held an event in Bukwo District to commemorate IWD with support from UN Women. They educated women and girls on many issues more especially GBV which is a serious problem to both women and girls and this has to be addressed by all leaders at levels in order to fight against GBV in homes, communities, schools etc. They also advised women to embrace the chance of PDM and invest that money wisely to help them stand up and support themselves financially.

UWOPA members led by their Chairperson Hon. Sarah Opendi & DWR of Abim district held a dialogue meeting on GBV in Karamonja region following up the incident of Grace who was pierced with an arrow in the eye by her husband.
