Capacity Building Workshop for Members of Parliament on Unpaid Care and Domestic Work

UWOPA in partnership with UWONET held a half day training of members of Parliament on Unpaid care and domestic work.

The meeting was aimed at increasing members’ understanding of the concept of Unpaid Care and Domestic Work as it relates to broader national.

Members were able to develop household issues which enabled them to develop clear interventions and strategies to influence the recognition, redistribution and reduction of care work.

The training was appreciated by participants as it also facilitated effective lobbying and influencing of policies and programmes on unpaid care and domestic work as they were able to share of experience on pilot interventions and laying strategies on establishing joint partnerships between government, private sector and civil society to further advance unpaid care and domestic work as a development priority.
